Founder Daniel Mercer grew up in the Columbia area and became interested in residential construction while helping with home improvement projects for relatives. After years working around residential repair and construction, he noticed that homeowners dealing with foundation movement or crawl space moisture often struggled to get a simple explanation of what they were seeing. He started Columbia Foundation Pros to concentrate on these problems and make the evaluation process easier to understand.
Daniel built the company around Greater Columbia because he knows the area as a homeowner and tradesman. He has spent time working in neighborhoods across Columbia, Lexington, Irmo, West Columbia, Cayce, Forest Acres, Blythewood, and Chapin, and he understands that homes can have very different conditions even when they are only a short drive apart.
